Absolutely! In fact, in my opinion, there aren’t many things better than a dog at a wedding - except maybe two dogs! We couldn't have imagined our wedding day without our gorgeous Pip...
Whether you want your fur baby to escort you down the aisle, be Best Dog, Mutt of Honour (Pip's role!), Ring Security, or anything else, let‘s make it happen (doing a reading is probably out but I‘d be overjoyed if your pooch can prove otherwise!)
You're going to be quite busy on your Big Day, so, if you don't have a guest who can help, you may want to look into hiring a pet chaperone to ensure your pooch is perfectly pampered. Yes, it’s true, there are pet minding businesses that will look after your dog, at your wedding - a quick online search should give you some local options (obviously, you will want to check them out - and not just trust their reviews).
If it just isn’t possible, or feasible, for your beloved dog to be with you on your big day you can always have a cardboard cutout made, or bring a picture - that way they can give your guests a great welcome and they won’t be left out of the wedding photos!
There are quite a few readings that have a canine theme, here’s a sweet one that you may not have seen before:
All I need to know about love I learned from my dog...
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride together. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When loved ones come home always run to greet them.
When you want treats, practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps together and stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
Thrive on the attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout...
Run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk together.
Love each other unconditionalljy.
Of course, if I’m your Celebrant, all of your human guests, and any other pets would also be made very welcome (and just in case you were wondering: no, you don‘t have to bring a pet - or even have one... Honest!)
Hi, I am Lorraine Hull, an award-winning Independent Celebrant, based in Liverpool.
I am most usually asked to conduct ceremonies in North-West England and North Wales but I am happy to travel anywhere within the U.K. or abroad.
At the risk of shouting (and sounding extremely cheesy) "I LOVE MY JOB".
I love to create and conduct personal and personalised Wedding, Partnership, Commitment, Naming, and Celebration of Life ceremonies; anyone, and everyone, is welcome to ask me to work with, and for, them.
I believe that all people (and animals) should all be treated kindly, fairly and with respect.
We are all unique and we all matter.
I advocate kindness, fairness, respect and equality for all through everything that I say and do: Love is Love, Family is Family, Life is Life.
You may also like to know that I hold Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance, I adhere to a strict code of conduct and I am committed to developing and sharing best practice with my Celebrant colleagues, so that we can all be the best Celebrants that we can possibly be.
