25 tracks that you NEED on your Wedding Playlist

I am always happy to help in any way that I can, so when one of my couples asked if I would sort out the music that they wanted to play for their guests, as they were arriving for their farm wedding, I (obviously!) said "Of course, no problem".

If your ceremony is in a more traditional venue, they will usually have a co-ordinator (and their own music system) and they will liaise with you to ensure that your music is exactly right. Because I'm a bit 'belt and braces' (as my Dad used to say), as a matter of course, I always ask what your ceremony music is, so that I can try to have a backup for you (not that it has ever been needed but it's good to have - just in case!)

Of course, if you are having singers and/or musicians, they will work with you to agree what they will sing/play and if/how that will be amplified (I definitely don't get involved, other than saying a friendly "hello" to your singer(s)/musician(s), you really would not want me to sing - or, come to think about it, play any instruments!).

I have a Spotify account and will set up any music that is wanted before, or during the ceremony, or I'm happy to stream someone else's, through one of my speakers - you just need to ask me during one of our planning discussions.

I have a selection of different sizes of speaker (depending on how powerful they need to be); none of them require an electrical supply, so they can be positioned anywhere.

I also have several types of microphone and they can be used during the ceremony. As above (and as with anything else), you just need to mention that you would like me to bring one (or more) microphones. Even if they aren't used by me (or you), they are useful for people doing readings - especially if your ceremony is being held outside.

As you would expect, I will take everything with me when I leave shortly after the ceremony - so if you think that you may need them for speeches later, please bear that in mind.

Lorraine Hull, Celebrant

Hi, I am Lorraine Hull, an award-winning Celebrant, based in Liverpool.

I am most usually asked to conduct ceremonies in North-West England and North Wales but I am happy to travel anywhere within the U.K. or abroad.

At the risk of shouting (and sounding extremely cheesy) "I LOVE MY JOB!".

I really love getting to know the couples and families that ask me to be part of their special celebration, whether that is for a Wedding/Civil Partnership, Renewal/Reaffirmation of VowsNaming/Welcoming, or Celebration of Life/Funeral

I love hearing, writing and telling love and life stories (and also finding out about hopes and dreams - which are the stories of the future!)

I love to create and conduct unique, meaningful ceremonies that are perfect for each couple, individual, and/or family.

I love helping to create and celebrate happy and poignant moments, which form memories that will last a lifetime (that also includes the memories that I get to keep too - what's not to love?)

I believe that ALL people (and animals) should all be treated kindly, fairly and with respect.

I think for myself and act for others. I advocate anti-racism, the appreciation and celebration of diversity, dignity, justice, equity and equality for ALL through everything that I say and do: Love is Love, Family is Family, Life is Life.

You may like to know that I was trained to the highest level as a Celebrant and have continued my professional development. I hold Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance. I adhere to a strict code of conduct and I am committed to identifying, developing and sharing best practice with my Celebrant colleagues, so that we can all be the best Celebrants that we can possibly be.
