What I do and where I work...
I design, write, and conduct personal and personalised ceremonies for life's milestone moments, from the first 'hello' to the last 'goodbye' - and everything in between.
I have been conducting ceremonies since 2002. That doesn’t mean I think that I’ve seen and heard it all – far from it! – but it does mean that I have a great deal of experience and expertise, have built a solid reputation and I am proud to have won a number of industry awards, after being nominated by people that I had created ceremonies for.
I am extremely proud of my home city and that is why I named my small business 'Liverpool Celebrant' (although, I'd like to mention that I don't support LFC, I support our city's other great football team: Everton!).
I love living and working in Liverpool but I also love to get out and about too. For funerals I tend to be asked to work within Merseyside and West Lancashire. Many of the weddings, partnerships, handfastings, namings and vow renewals that I conduct are in the Northwest of England (Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria) and North Wales. However, I am happy to travel anywhere within the U.K. (and abroad) so, please get in touch and tell me what you have in mind and where your ceremony will be taking place - I'd love to hear your plans.
What I love about being a Celebrant...
I really love getting to know the couples and families that entrust me to be part of their celebration, whether that is for a Wedding/Civil Partnership, Renewal/Reaffirmation of Vows, Naming/Welcoming, or Celebration of Life/Funeral.
I love hearing, writing and telling their love and life stories (and also finding out about hopes and dreams - which are the stories of the future!)
I love to take those stories, hopes and dreams (and so much more) and use them to create and conduct unique ceremonies that are authentic and meaningful to each couple, individual, and/or family.
I love that I have been accredited by Humanists UK (the leading provider of quality-assured, meaningful, personalised, non-religious ceremonies for over 120 years) and I am pretty proud of that too because it is quite an achievement and an awesome community to be part of.
I love that I have such a fulfilling job, it has brought me into contact with a multitude of wonderful people and they have enriched my life in more ways than I could have ever imagined.
Ever since my first ceremony I have been blessed with meeting amazing couples and families, many of whom have become my friends.
I have also met many talented, hard working, passionate, generous professionals and suppliers within the wedding, funeral, creative, and events sectors and I am happy and grateful to have formed friendships with quite a lot of these gorgeous people too...
You can see why I said 'EVERYTHING!'
What this couple said after their Liverpool Celebrant wedding in Lancashire...
"It is difficult to describe how brilliant Lorraine is, she makes what is already a special day extraordinary.
Every single one of our guests literally gushed about how amazing the ceremony was, and indeed it was.
Lorraine has an amazing ability to to take the essence of how two people feel about each other and put it into words, she has a real gift.
Our hotel venue said that Lorraine was the best celebrant they had ever had and hopes that she would be back again at some point and would recommend her if asked.
Sharon and I can’t thank you enough Lorraine for making our day extra special, you're an amazing woman with the ability to to make people laugh, cry and be thankful for everything they have together."
