Liverpool Celebrant: Wanted Down Under...

Next month, I will be meeting three couples to talk about their wedding plans. Nothing unusual in that. If possible, I always try to meet up with couples who ask me to conduct their ceremony. Very often, we will meet up for a coffee and spend an hour (or two) chatting.

I love what I do. I love to watch, listen and talk with the people who are entrusting me with their special day. I love to speak with them and hear about how they met and what brought them to the point where they decided to get married. Once we have spent some time together, we can then start to design a wedding ceremony that reflects their beliefs, fits their personalities and celebrates their relationship.

So, in a couple of weeks, on three occasions, I will be having a latte and talking to people about their weddings. So what? Well, at least one of those coffees will be sipped in a cafe overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge, another will be in Brisbane and the third is probably going to be in Liverpool (New South Wales, rather than near North Wales!)

I'm actually going to Australia on holiday. That came first. It was booked before any of the weddings. But what a great opportunity to catch up with brides and grooms over 10,000 miles away! Skype and FaceTime are fantastic, but nothing beats being in the same place.

Celebrants have been popular, in Australia, for quite a number of years. In fact, the first Celebrant led ceremonies, in the World, were in Australia and New Zealand.

The couples that I will be meeting with live in Australia, but have links back here. They are each having a simple legal ceremony, where they live. I am also conducting a ceremony for a couple, who live in London, and the bride is from Australia. They are going back to her home town to be married, in church. All of the couples are then coming to the UK and I will deliver four beautiful, bespoke, ceremonies for the 'Big Wedding', with family and friends over here.

I'll say it again: I love what I do...

Liverpool Celebrant

Hi, I am Lorraine Hull, an award-winning Celebrant, based in Liverpool.

I am most usually asked to conduct ceremonies in North-West England and North Wales but I am happy to travel anywhere within the U.K. or abroad.

At the risk of shouting (and sounding extremely cheesy) "I LOVE MY JOB!".

I really love getting to know the couples and families that ask me to be part of their special celebration, whether that is for a Wedding/Civil Partnership, Renewal/Reaffirmation of VowsNaming/Welcoming, or Celebration of Life/Funeral

I love hearing, writing and telling love and life stories (and also finding out about hopes and dreams - which are the stories of the future!)

I love to create and conduct unique, meaningful ceremonies that are perfect for each couple, individual, and/or family.

I love helping to create and celebrate happy and poignant moments, which form memories that will last a lifetime (that also includes the memories that I get to keep too - what's not to love?)

I believe that ALL people (and animals) should all be treated kindly, fairly and with respect.

I think for myself and act for others. I advocate anti-racism, the appreciation and celebration of diversity, dignity, justice, equity and equality for ALL through everything that I say and do: Love is Love, Family is Family, Life is Life.

You may like to know that I was trained to the highest level as a Celebrant and have continued my professional development. I hold Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance. I adhere to a strict code of conduct and I am committed to identifying, developing and sharing best practice with my Celebrant colleagues, so that we can all be the best Celebrants that we can possibly be.
